The famed spritblades of the ancient [[PraxianEmpire|Praxian Empire]] are singular artifacts of terrifying power. Common belief holds that each blade was forged within the maelstrom archipelago of [[KordasKnuckles|Korda's Knuckles]] long before the islands sank into the depths of the [[ArtuneSea|Artune Sea]]. Although their creators have, until only recently, remained unknown the fearsome aspect of these blades are the source of legend.

Each spiritblade is forged from a single shard of [[soulstone|soulstone]] and imbued with the chaos magic of the maelstrom. When wielded by a true scion of the [[BloodlessReign|Bloodless Reign]] it is capable of entrapping the living soul of it's hapless victim with no known means of escape. There it resides alongside all of the other souls thus captured. No wielder of a spiritblade has ever revealed what, if any, benefits such an arrangement has for either party.

It is said that twelve spiritblades were originally forged yet only two are now known to exist:
